If You Do Not Love Yourself Poem by Mark Heathcote

If You Do Not Love Yourself

If you do not love yourself,
There'll be no one left to love you back.
Whatever you are looking for,
If you don't make time for yourself,
Then what are you even living for?

If a caterpillar isn't transformed,
Into another winged version of itself.
What would be the point of it all?
If all your toil didn't buy a day of happiness,
How tiered would your heart and mind be?

A journey requires a destination.
A circle requires a recurring destiny.
A central meaning is the hub.
Your heart is such a destiny,
Asking what it is to be realized and become.
