If You Take Even My Peace And Joy Poem by Mohammad Younus

If You Take Even My Peace And Joy

If you take even my peace and joy,
I will no longer be who I was.
A shadow burned by the sun
is only the memory of absence.

But those who gather in shared ecstasy
find solace in one another.
Peace and joy, when given,
do not fade—
they deepen, multiply,
return greater than before.

To share is to heal—
it reshapes sight,
returns the soul to its truth,
to the moment of Alast.

Yet beware—
when betrayal poisons the well,
forgive, if you must,
but never drink from it again.
What shatters may be mended,
but the crack remains.

No one escapes illusion
while clutching the weight
of an untamed ego.
Only in release
can you move forward.

Winter is ruthless—
not only to those without warmth,
but to those who feed
on the embers of memory.
Some freeze in the cold,
others—
beneath the ice of the past.

The purest peace and joy
arrive in the breath after goodbye,
when illusions dissolve,
and time stands full.
Every touch glows divine,
every gaze becomes prayer.

Do not dwell on the dark past—
but on the wounds that shaped you.
Each scar carved you
from soft clay to stone,
each tear turned your soul
into a mirror.

Those who sit upon the shore
know nothing of the sea's vastness.
Lost in dreams,
they hear only echoes of waves.

To truly know the sea,
you must dive—
headlong, without fear.
And in its depths,
you will find
you are not a drop apart,
but the sea itself—
living, breathing, infinite.
