If You Would Dare To Love Poem by edgar bonette clar

If You Would Dare To Love

Rating: 5.0

If you were an eagle,
I'd hate to be a cage;
I'd rather be the sky,
that gave you freedom to fly.

If you were a rose,
I'd hate to be a butterfly;
I'd rather be the water,
that made you flower.

If you would dare to love,
Please love me not;
for I am not the sky,
that gave you freedom to fly.

If you would dare to love,
Please love me not;
For I am not the water,
that made you flower.

I'm a cage away from the water,
whatever, could be the weather;
I'm neither the water nor the sky,
And I know you would surely die.

But if you would really dare,
to love the me in me;
I'm neither the water nor the sky,
But I would really really try.
