Illegal Immigrants Poem by Ramona Thompson

Illegal Immigrants

I wish we could help you all, but it simply is not possible

Letting go of a dream is hard I know

Lingering in this limbo will do none of us any good at all

Everyone just needs to take a deep breath and think this thru

God will grant us wisdom and a way if we just pray His way

As a people united we can surely find a solution

Lift your voices to the sky and seek Him

It's the only way to heal these wounds we've all inflicted in this endless war

May we surrender not to the fear and the anger inside

May we all find some way here to compromise and make a better life for all

I pray you too will join me on this mission of hope

Grant forgivness if a place cannot be found for you

Rejoice for those who can be helped

Allow no bitterness nor jealousy to enter

Now let us begin here a new and better day

The future is in our hands

Together, where can we can take it?
