Illusion Poem by soren Barrett

Illusion

Everything is a chimera
Mirages of what you want to believe
Your feelings mere reflections
Fantasies that you deceive
It doesn't matter if you love someone
It only matters if they think so
An illusion is better than reality
You don't have to admit what you don't want to know
The beheaded bloodbath of a floral boquete
A wilting image of beauty, your love to show
A meaningless sacrifice of the innocent
To love something is to let it grow
Nature creates perfect gardens with no effort
With great labor we create scars of beautification
When you try to make something yours, you destroy it
Control is a human abomination
When you have done your best
And the one you love says it doesn't show
When they say you hate them
And love is all that you know
When you feel their anger
And they say it is you that is mad
When they hurt you
Then say it's you that's bad
When they say you are yelling
and it's them you hear scream
When they say there is no hope
Then say you have no dream
When they say they can't trust you
Then they tell you a lie
When they say they love you
Then say they wish you would die
When you tell the truth you damage them
If you lie you hurt them more
If you do nothing you break their hearts
Whatever you do cuts them to the core
When all efforts result in destruction
And you see the world crumbling each day
When each effort worsens the condition
Like the picked flower, I'm just loving you away
