Illusion, The Deceptive Beauty Poem by Mohammad Younus

Illusion, The Deceptive Beauty

Illusion, the Deceptive Beauty,
Illusion drapes in radiant veils,
A shifting weave of light and mist,
Where weary hearts, in restless search,
Find fleeting peace in dreams half-kissed.

It paints the sky in liquid gold,
A glimmer soft—a whispered lie,
A fragile balm for aching souls,
A mirage where lost hopes lie.

Its silver hands caress the mind,
A touch so light, so falsely fair,
Yet blossoms spun from paper dreams
Hold neither fragrance nor the air.

In mirrored halls, we wander deep,
Entranced by echoes, forms unseen,
Yet every path curves back to naught—
A shadowed dance of what has been.

But when the veil is torn apart,
And dawn spills forth its blinding grace,
The phantoms pale, the colors wane,
Truth stands unveiled in pure embrace.

No longer lost in spectral glow,
The soul awakens—clear, aware—
It sees at last, and in that light,
Is the witness and the witnessed, truly there.
