Imagine a desert,
Without sanctuary,
As dry & hard as bone.
Imagine a river,
Ceasing to flow,
As it changes
from azure to mud.
Imagine black blanches,
Dripping with blood,
Devoid of birds.
Imagine the spirit:
The vital force of life;
Extinguished from the mortal flesh,
Like a rose turned to ash.
And then imagine,
A world that has lost
Its boundless gift for dreaming.
