Immaculate Deception Poem by Stanley Cooper

Immaculate Deception

Rating: 5.0

When voting on Election Day
In our democratic nation
We vote them in and hope that they
Fulfill their obligations

Once elected they took command
In a way that we deplore
This ruling group got out of hand
They forgot it’s US they work for

They promised this and promised that
Most sincerely, pre-election
But now we know it was just chit-chat
Immaculate deception

Well, I don't know - I'd say not so immaculate. There are plenty of smudges and grimy attempts to cover up.10. - chuck
