Immigrants Peace Poem by Randy McClave

Immigrants Peace

What did the Native American's first say
When the immigrants showed up on the shore that day,
Did they cursed or shout, screaming for them to get out
Or did they asked them all to stay.
If we could look back at that moment in time,
I wonder who committed the first crime.

These immigrants came from across the seas
To find a better life for them and their families,
They was not a single passport, when they landed at the port
There and then they all felt freedom's breeze.
Then with Bible and gun in their hand,
They then settled on someone else's land.

What did the Native American's speak
Did they think their life and living was going to be bleak,
When the white man first arrived, helping so they survived
I wonder who turned the other cheek.
After all of the consequences,
The white man then put up "keep out" fences.

This country was founded by immigrants one and all
When for freedom they had heard liberties call,
So, they fought to make this country free, for you and me
Then they built liberty hall.
Then for the freedom of others they had fought,
For the freedom too that they had sought.

Now the children of the immigrants want no one else in
To the country that their forefathers did begin,
They want no one given access, to the great U.S
They want the door closed to the inn.
Just think if the native Americans had put up a gate,
This country now would not be full of evil and hate.

What did the Native American's declare
When the immigrants appeared both here and there,
Did they command them to leave, or to bereave
When they said their prayer.
I bet they would hope hate against immigrants would cease,
They just wanted to live in freedom and peace.
