Today is just the day for me
No more need I fret
My yesterday-years went horribly
And today…well, 'No sweat.'
What I do know now is that everything's good
And all seems to be fine these days-
Thank God
and also 'knock wood'.
The world rolls along on its peaceful-paced path-
These days nothing appears to be flat
Everything that once limped, rolls and rhymes to a beat,
Why, today I can charge up anywhere-and never have to retreat.
There is nothing I had in my earlier days
That I'd care to carry or for which I would fight.
Except maybe-
More youth; fewer wrinkles; no canes, and less aches and pains…?
'Hmm.' …
Perhaps, little girl, maybe your right.
