In winter I saw a figure,
Smiling; often unwelcome by the life of others
Watching people enjoy their lives, their last or their beginning.
He hears and sees the things they can't imagine
Arresting the wanted people for their crimes
The knowing and the feeling he's done something right
Helping and serving the people at night
To walk in the shoes of the man in blue
Can be you, you can be I walking in blue
To watch the life he saved from a problem in their life
Seeing their eyes fill with joy
For you can't know how little respect they sometimes
get; Still smiling, a man in blue saving and
watching lives like me and you
