In God we say we trust
But, in God do we really believe,
To the Lord are we just
Or unto the Lord do we deceive.
If in God we trust is all true
Then why don't we trust in him at all,
Why are we sad, and scared and blue
As we have posted on the wall.
If in God we have faith in him
Then why are we scared,
Why do we become frightened and grim
Why isn't our soul prepared.
When I told you of our Lord
You laughed in my face,
You said you would rather have a gun or a sword
To protect you instead of Gods grace.
In God we trust you say
But, you don't even ever listen,
And unto the lord you never pray
And you are not a Christian.
There was a thief upon the cross
He never worshiped and he was full of hate and lies,
Then he asked Jesus to save him from his loss
The thief after death went to paradise.
In God we trust you write
But, you only do it for the views,
You don't know him as he's not in your sight
So, I walk away knocking the dust off my shoes.
