In Good Faith Poem by indira babbellapati

In Good Faith

...and when I cried
For the first time
Upon touching the earth
I did it instinctively
To activate my lungs
I did not know then
Of the arduous journey
Ahead; still I wonder
Why I did not smile instead
Is my crying a precursor...?
Knowing well that all
Journeys end at same destination
Time rolling down like
A child's marble on
A cold slab of marble
Now I wish all my tears
Would lose their identity
And will melt into the oblivion;
No more a life after death!

Let me at last dilute into
The expanding nothingness
Ever an inquisitive space
For those breathing beings

Beware,
Where there's breathing
There're tears
Where there're tears
There's breathing!

Where there's breathing There're tears Where there're tears There's breathing! So very true! Time rolling like a child's marble on a cold marble floor is an arresting image! !

Tears and breathing are made inseparable. An observation worth noting. Thanks for the nice poem.
