In Good Health, I Talk To Myself Poem by Raj Dronamraju

In Good Health, I Talk To Myself

I talk to myself to work out the thoughts
To polish the lines, for any actor expects the unexpected
For the truth of uttered speech that does not expect or need a response
The crafting of the word, feedback will be sent later

In good health, I talk to myself
This is how a mind works out for strength
For calm delivery of careful preparation
This reassurance fanned by the one who knows you best

In defense of talking to one's self, the words come alive only when they are verbalized
Who is the crazy one? Those who rehearse and think through what they are saying or the blowhard called upon to spit bubbles of nonsense over present company
I'm not an actor but I will speak with the certainty of the intellectual

In good health, I talk to myself
I establish a principle to stand on
I reel in a fragmented mind
I put down a solid base to tie a consciousness to - to prevent it from drifting off
