In Her Eyes Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In Her Eyes

Rating: 3.5

I did not look at in her eyes
She was full remorse with cries
She came with rage and pulled me down
I could not think of any lapses of my own

“You have ruined me for nothing”
I called day a night and morning for evening
Still you committed a treachery and deception
I had no idea about it from the inception

I could hear her raised voice with lots of concern
She was not offering me any chance in turn
I had loved her from bottom of my heart
We had lovely beginning with very good start

She came down heavily on me with full firing
She was almost shivering without tiring
I feared something unusual would happen
She was not taking proper breathe even

I had full responsibility to calm her down and satisfy
I caught her hand and tried to pacify
She gazed at ground and looked towards sky
What for I was making a desperate try?

I offered no explanation for her fears
I just consoled her and removed the tears
It was now my turn to look around
She was now comfortable and reasonably found

I was unmoved by her sudden burst
The trust in love is essential and must
She was totally carried away by some gossips
I was found alone without any keeps

I waited for her as usual
It was my daily routine and remained casual
There was nothing to hide from my side
She found in me a best person to confide
