In His Sovereignty Poem by Oyekake Satty (O S) Joshua - Amopho

In His Sovereignty

And these crazed chaos
That rage in the heavens, and
The whirlwind on earth -
Hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes
And all of nature’s disasters;
And even the wickedness of men,
Wrought by manmade implements
And through flagitious counsel,
Do they take Him by surprise?
Or threaten His omnipotence?
Or denature His sovereignty?

But if all of nature’s growling
And even the vileness of men
And their spewing outflow –
Wars, pestilences and deaths,
Humanity’s quotidian assailment,
He set limit to their devastation –
Declaring: this far and not farther,
Then I confidently rest my affairs
In His sovereign decrees
And face my days with courage,
And my tomorrows with hope
