In Mosul Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

In Mosul

In Mosul

I can feel being there
-city is divided east and west
-a part is in the hands of ISIS

Happily I end up in market
-pay money, if do have
-freely, everything, I purchase

It was hard for some years
-thanks to rules of ISIS
-women were at home and
-most of men were jobless

No man could go out beardless!

But still it is me, with no hate
-I feel and sympathise, empathise
-with the youths of ISIS

I try hard to see the roots deep
-with our wrong we made them
-we must be honest and must confess
-dumbness comes from our blindness
-to facts of our life and the making of ISIS!
