In My Arms Poem by Rachel Brewer

In My Arms

I saw the bullet rip through your head.
It just, went right through,
Like there was nothing in it’s way.
I saw your blood come pouring out,
Of your head and your mouth,
And I died inside.
In that moment,
When the bullet took your life,
I froze. Stood. And stared.
At you.
Because I knew in that very moment,
That I would never be able to see you again.
But I’ve kept that image in my mind.
The expression on your face when you felt it,
That sharp pain that ended your world,
And mine.
All because of one tiny piece of metal,
You will never be in my arms again.
