In my happiest hour, my thoughts are divine,
Never wandering far, never in confusion.
I find myself in total enlightenment,
Without delusion or illusion.
Fused to tranquility, where peace thrives,
No pain of separation from my true essence.
Tears of joy gather in my eyes,
Answering a hundred questions of doubt.
A place beyond, where the content dwell,
Between the garden of Eden and the desert of the world.
Where there is no sound but the sound of silence,
Flashes of light, and songs of love.
The taste of love's wine gives sweet peace to my soul,
My head revolving, as if circling the house of the Lord.
My heartbeat quickens to the mystical Hu,
As if divine hands play the sacred drum.
I hear the Hu in the drummers' beat,
Should I stay listening or retreat?
My soul stands on the bridge,
Eager to cross to the other side, the hereafter.
Amidst darkness, I seek a light,
A sign of hope, a hand of might,
To cross the hairbreadth bridge without a fall.
To my Lord, I appeal for help,
To cross between this world and the next.
But to earn His hand, good deeds I must perform.
My heart is joyful, dancing to its beat,
What once was bitter has now turned sweet.
