In Praise Aloud Through The Rose Studded Days

in your wide satin skies o Lord
I find delight so that
I want to gather clear lilies

of the days
and set them in crystal vases
and tread barefoot down

the dews on all the grasses
and though others look at me
through their glasses

sliding down their noses and cooly tinted
let me compose in old ivoried afternoons
my rose laden tunes

for you for you
all the madrigals spilling
down from the moon

threaded through
your violet studded clouds.
