In Sleep Comes Joseph Three Times A Year Poem by Liza Sud

In Sleep Comes Joseph Three Times A Year

In sleep comes Joseph three times a year:
On May - his birthday, in January,
the day of his glory - in December,
Although before I don't think of it.

Three days the church celebrates the saints.
Compare is formal, although in chest
The sacred visions are also three:
His coming, going, rise to zenith.

We sat together. And I was dumb,
And you were saying so quietly.
I'm afraid of you, inside - I love.
Big was the castle. And we would eat

In the below hall. And so we went,
Got down together throughout the Brick Hall
Of Brown stone. All comfort there.
And I felt safe... And then you were gone.
