In The Beautiful Singing Lady Poem by Francis Duggan

In The Beautiful Singing Lady

I went in search of God searched everywhere around
But no sight or trace of the Supreme Being anywhere to be found
I searched amongst the bushes and gazed at the trees
Their sunlit leaves rustling in the freshening breeze,
I searched in the town park and every likely place
But of God there was not a sight or a trace
A middle aged woman on the pathway as she walked along
In a beautiful voice sung a familiar song
When she see me she stopped singing and at me did smile
Her beautiful face free of conceit and guile
She had such great warmth in her cheerful good day
And again she started to sing as she went on her way
On the pathway today in the park off of the street
In the beautiful singing lady God I did meet.
