In The Cage Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

In The Cage

Rating: 4.0

In the cage

I paid for two birds to set free.

My kind son is Nima
Insisted and wanted.

Selling birds in the cage
On roadside Karachi
Is a job, an amuse
Yes shameful
But true!

The caged birds
Strange with the wings
Went for walk, not flight.

Nearby was a cat
Hungry and hunter
In blink bird was lost.

Here too went to search
To research on caged-birds
I hate this disaster!

Sadly found them many
They are so plenty!

But to find bird buyers
Handicapped I observed.
They are big only on
Internet and papers!
In fact most in hiding!

Defenders have post box
Or secrets on door locks.

Freedom and fear?
What call this?

Birds are caged for trading and the society indulges to carry on the trade- mostly inconspicuously. Nice poem,
