In The Eye Of The Beholder Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

In The Eye Of The Beholder

Rating: 5.0

Brainpower I must be lacking
When reading without comprehending
Vocabulary stifled in early youth
Abysmally let down by educations formula
Arts for the educated hierarchy
Technical drawing and history for the rest
Geared more to industry
Snobbishness was the reasoning I presume
Riches procure art in its many forms
Brilliance is not so single-minded
Rising out of the obscurity of poverty
Forcing its way into the upper echelons of societies realm
Dogmatically refusing to be downtrodden
Requiring acknowledgement
Poetry has no bounds or strict limits
Beauty is as it’s said, is in the eyes of the beholder
