In The Eyes Of The Law Poem by Kinyua Karanja

In The Eyes Of The Law

I absolutely agree with you Mr president
That we are all equal before the law
But, I beg to clarify your comment
That we are not talking about Kenyan law

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a comment I would have given to one of our President
when he said that we are all equal before the law. I believe
this was irony to what happen in reality. People who are
rich and in power always get away with crime in our court of law.
Poor and innocent are quickly convicted even to crime they never did.
these children of lesser god are the one rotting in our prisons.

I'm sure that in Kenya justice is sort of mouse-joke quite often and human rights are not respected, either, but I can say that your words ''People who are rich and in power always get away with crime in our court of law...'' can easily describe Italian situation, too - especially the one related to corrupted politicians (and we have got so many, here!) ..

Thanx Fabrizio Frosini, It's good to hear from you that our problem is not an isolated case by a global mess to clean.
