In The Light Poem by Randy McClave

In The Light

I say this with a truth
To us all we should listen to and hark,
One thing that I was taught in my youth
Sin, likes to hide in the dark.

We have been told and also taught
We all know wrong from right,
But, many try not to be caught
Then there is the night.

The light reveals all sin
While the dark just hides it away,
We then forget where we have been
Until we awaken to the light the next day.

The darkness is just a cloak
From which behind it a magician does his act,
Mystery and Illusions he then does invoke
Then he'll distract.

The Devil walks in the nighttime
Where he doesn't have to cover his face,
Where he provokes the sin and crime
And where he runs his evil race.

I say this with a truthful starkness
Also with a little terror and truth and fright,
Sometimes we forget in the darkness
What we knew in the light.
