In the Light of Service
I have dwelled here long,
with a hearing heart,
guided by glimmering light,
and the long, subtle, sweet Hu.
Out of joy to behold the light,
I tremble to return to darkness.
I align myself with the sun,
its radiance cascading upon me.
Spun and swirled,
around the House of God,
where the Sun shines eternally,
my eyes fixed, my soul set on the line.
Yet, how can I contain in words
what I heard echoing in that sacred space?
Only the chants of my swirling heart
remain etched in the rhythm of devotion:
'We are here at Your service,
O Allah, we are here at Your service.
We are here at Your service,
none is worthy of worship besides You,
we are here at Your service.
Indeed, all praise and all blessings
are Yours, along with the Kingdom.
None is worthy of worship besides You.'
Round and round I move,
a speck in the orbit of surrender,
a whisper in the eternal call.
The Sun rises, the Light enfolds,
and I am but a humble servant,
woven into the tapestry of Hu
