In The Navy Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

In The Navy

Six years at sea, six years of salt on my skin,
of steel decks beneath my boots,
of waves that never rested,
never waited.

The rhythm of life measured in shifts,
in the hum of engines,
in the calls of orders carried by the wind.

Sunrises on endless horizons,
storms that tested both ship and soul,
quiet nights where the ocean
whispered secrets
only sailors could understand.

Brotherhood forged in duty,
in laughter, in hardship,
in the unspoken trust of those
who sail into the unknown together.

The land was home, but the sea was life,
and though the years have passed,
the navy still moves within me,
as steady as the tide.
