In The Quiet Of The Moonlight Poem by Joshua Mapp

In The Quiet Of The Moonlight

Rating: 4.5

In the quiet darkness I rest against a tall maple
In the absence of buzzing life my thoughts are free and capable
My mind wanders in the calm moonlight
Every sound is amplified in the still night
From the steady breaths escaping me
To the waving leaves in the groaning tree
The still earth with it's whispering grass
And the yawning breeze in the stary night that continues to pass
I feel my soul radiate outwards and beyond
Reaching for the soul to which mine does belong
Out there in the ebbing distance
I feel her pull, I feel her existence
In my mind I am with her to taste of her lips
I can feel her embrace, her hands light on my hips
Her voice is soft, intoxicating whe she starts to speak
She makes me shiver with joy, yet makes me aware that I can be weak
For the knowledge is known and shines bright
Without her the future contains nothing, no light
She is my night moon that guides me through the darkness
The journey in life that tells me I'm ready to embark in this
I find my way back to where I reside
I feel her still as always where my heart beats inside
