No time to think,
no time to weigh the edges of choice.
Just a heartbeat-
then another-
and the leap.
The air is different mid-flight,
thinner, electric,
charged with the unknown.
Feet leave the ground,
words leave the tongue,
and there is no taking them back.
A glance exchanged,
a door pulled open,
a road taken with a map.
Later, the mind will chase reason,
but now-
now belongs to impulse alone.
