In The Unlucky Event Of Landing On Water - Poem by Monica Melissano

As if
we were
falling down
and down
on a plane
landing on water.

Grabbing, grasping, clutching,
hanging on to each other
through tears
As if
you were my lifejacket
and I was
your oxygen mask.

We didn't want to die
