In The Valley, Restore My Soul Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

In The Valley, Restore My Soul

When down in the valley
Don’t be in despair,
Don’t look up but around you
To know why you are there.

Don’t bother yourself wondering
What’s on the other side.
Just look for the signs left
That will now be your guide.

If a stream presents a quenching
Know some are dying of thirst.
If the hills are full of flowers,
Know there’s food mixed with earth.

If the sky is blue and cloudy,
Know that shade has come your way,
And there are now no hindrances
To just sit down to pray.

And then when you’re refreshed
Stand and look up toward the sky.
Tell Him “Lord. P S I thank You,
I’m glad it’s You here by my side! ”

Where He leads me I shall follow,
For when we follow we shall be led.
He’ll restore us in the valley,
Just as He provides our daily bread!
