In The World Many Unhappy People Poem by Francis Duggan

In The World Many Unhappy People

In the World many unhappy people and those without worries are rare
And though money can be to your advantage you ask the multi millionaire
If she or he are reasonably happy their answer most likely would be
If you wish to know about happiness ask somebody other than me

Doubtless it is better to be wealthy and unhappy than unhappy and in poverty
The wealthy one without monetary problems though unhappy in ways mentally
The people who are content of mind are those one does not often meet
You will not see many smiling faces walking on the sidewalks of the street

Whenever I meet a happy stranger who smiles at me and bids me good day
This person is doing me a favourby sharing joy passing my way
Such people attract people to them and others of them wish to know
As they carry joy with them and share it and they do have the bright inner glow

There are not many happy people one can say of them a rare breed
But humanity is better for them in it and of more of their sort is in need
Some of the happiness that they have in them with others they are willing to share
In a Human World where so many are burdened with worries their sort are to say the least rare.
