We walk streets that were not paved for us,
our names foreign to tongues that do not wish to learn.
A glance too long, a silence too deep
-
reminders that we exist on the edges of comfort.
History books whisper our stories,
if they mention them at all.
Our voices, echoes in rooms where decisions are made
by those who have never known our hunger.
Yet here we are,
woven into the fabric of a world that does not see us,
building, dreaming, resisting-
a quiet revolution with every step forward.
The weight of expectation, the burden of proof,
carried in our hands like an inheritance
we never asked for but cannot abandon.
Still, we dance.
Still, we love.
Still, we carve space where there was none before.
A minority, yes-
but never small.
