In Their Praise Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

In Their Praise

In their praise

Nothing has changed
As we have managed
We have not adopted their skill
"Dive and rule" haunts mind still

Even though we remained under foreign yoke
We have nothing more to regret than joke
It was their extended rule
That always made them fool?

India was ruled from New Delhi, capital of India
But look at the place like Haryana
It was adjacent but still preserved their culture
The population did not see their future

Likewise all over country
The population remained with unity
India remained n place as it would have been
The gradual change is seen

Nothing has gone in vain
Even though it caused pain
As we were kept under chain
India definitely gained freedom

How many lost their precious lives?
Who shall forget Shahid Bhagatsingh and Netaji Bose?
Still people sing rural folk style in their praise
India stands today with full of promises

1) Shahid…. Martyr
