In This Shadow - Poem by Myrah Fisher

I hate the light.
It reveals me,
My secrets, my past,
My soul.
It pins me down
And beyond the glare,
People point and laugh
Or stand and stare.
No, I'd rather stay
In this shadow,
This darkness,
I've covered myself in.
I hate the light,
Because the light is truth.
And no one must know
The truth about me.
