In Twilight's Hush, Where Silence Reigns Poem by Mohammad Younus

In Twilight's Hush, Where Silence Reigns

In twilight's hush, where silence reigns,
I close my eyes on night's dark veil,
And ponder secrets still unseen—
Wisdom unspoken in the shadows.
Here I stand, alone in the dark,
Seeking the light that dawn will bring.

I'm sorry for the days I slipped
Away from sunlight's gentle touch,
For moments lost in fleeting dreams
Beneath a sky of dim illusion.
My soul grew hollow, and I wore
A mask, wandering through life,
Lost in delusion's tangled web.

I'm sorry for turning a deaf ear
To echoes of the ancient vow—
The promise made on Alast's day.
The light within me flickered, weak,
Fading in my chase of shadows.
I forgot to look behind,
Ignored the whispers, soft yet clear:
"Stay with me, don't turn away."

I'm sorry for the nights I spent
In cloaks of slumber, deaf to song—
The music of my soul grew faint,
Inaudible to my heart's ears.
I wore the shades of night like blinders,
Stumbling through the dark alone.

But by His grace, a dawn will rise—
From ashes, a phoenix,
from darkness, light.
Let my heart paint horizons bright,
A sky reborn with healing's touch.
For healing flows like rivers run—
Steady, calm, toward their source,
Returning to the sea, their home.

I'm grateful to my gracious Lord,
Who called me back when I was lost:
"Dear child, be not sorry now
For the distance you have roamed.
I've been waiting here within—
Your heart, your truest home.
The wilderness is left behind,
No more wandering through shadows.
Come home, where love is ever bright."
