Inconsolably Crying Poem by Ana Monnar

Inconsolably Crying

From very close by, I could hear
Inconsolably crying
News of a friend,
Almost as close as a sister
The death of a friend,
So hard to comprehend
Mournfully, sorrowfully,
Feelings, emotions
Knowing that person would not be near
Not near physically,
Yet, quite close spiritually
For you, no more pain,
Pain that can be caused in more than one way
For us, no more coffees, lunches, dinners,
Conversations, laughter and sharing
Each passing hour bringing
Anguish, anger, confusion
Then, the calm
Along with compassion and forgiveness
