Inconvenient Certainty Poem by Adam Holmes

Inconvenient Certainty

Rating: 5.0

The sinner sins
The preacher preaches
One thing is certain
Preaching won’t seize sinning

The bleeder bleeds
The writer writes
One thing is certain
Writing don’t stop the bleeding

The crier cries
The healer heals
One thing is certain
Healing can’t end crying

The hider hides
The seeker seeks
One thing is certain
Seeking won’t find hiding

The dreamer dreams
The thinker thinks
One thing is certain
Thinking doesn’t explain dreaming

The seer sees
The believer believes
One thing is certain
Believing can’t be seeing

A wisdom beyond one's years. Really quite rare. Very rare indeed. GW62

I like the concept of this poem - manipulating the stanzas to explore meaning & create a repetition of these 'inconvenient certainties'
