Indian poetics know I not,
Western poetics not my things,
Just free verse I can make it out,
Just have heard about rasa, dhvani and alankara.

I am just a student of W.H.Hudson and James Reeves
And B.Ifor Evans and Stopfird A.Brooke and Graham Hough,
I cannot I.A Richards, T.S.Eliot too weighs upon,
I can just E.M.W.Tillyard.

Rasa,
What do you mean?
What is rasa?
Is it sense and sensibility?

Dhvani,
What is dhvani,
How the sound effect,
How the use and application o the language,
How the impact?

Indian rasas, aesthetic flavours
Nine in number
Representing emotions gripping us, the states of feelings
In terms of
As such
Shringara (love/beauty)
Amorous and aesthetic,
Hasya (laughter)
Making us burst into and tickling humour,
Karuna(sorrow)
Arousing pity and pathos,
Raudra (anger)
What is it full of wrath and indignation,
Veera (heroism/courage)
Undaunted and daring and chivalrous,
Bhayanaka (terror/fear)
Awe-inspiring and dreadful,
Bibhatsa (disgust)
Unobservable and frightful,
Adbutha (surprise/wonder)
Strange and peculiar,
Shantha (peace or tranquility)
Calm and serene.
