Indian railway trains,
Poor railway trains
Sometimes without light,
Sometimes without water
In the toilet
Stinking and soiled
And dirty
As for the mass to carry,
As for the load unimaginable
So overcrowded, so overloaded,
So empty sometimes,
Taking the illiterate, ignorant masses
To their destinations,
Bearing the brunt of population explosion,
Have nothing to eat and wear and live in
But fathering many to add to burden and debt
In the name of God
That He is giving
Which he does not know,
The wife a child-bearing machine
Turning into a skeleton mother
Of the breast-sucking suckling,
I mean the same third class travellers
Those who do not know
How to sit, how to manner,
Behave yourself,
Not sometimes, but many a time
The ticketless passengers,
Sometimes the ticket collectors
Overshowing to get rewards for fines,
A strange railway journey experienced,
Trains many, lesser staff,
Suffering from poor maintenance,
Drivers straining after safety,
None with the headache
Still it is chugging, running on rails,
Cheering the people,
Small girls waving at with the wish,
Have a pleasant journey!
