Individual Poem by Joann Thompson

Individual

Why drink, it's a question I ask often
Whether it's social, or just for fun

I find it really dumb
Especially at a party
Where 'everybody is doing it'
I'm thinking 'you're all just plain idiots'

To be an individual
I never knew you had to be so smart
My parents must have taught me well,
and I thought they were just old farts
