Infected Poem by Samantha McKinnon

Infected

I tried to show I loved you
But it was never that cut and dry
You always found a way
To lead me to a new demise
Because
In the blink of an eye
You were enveloped inside of a monster
With hands covered with thorns
And drenched in sadism
Your rusted nails scratched and tore at my chest
You brushed my ribs aside
And infected it with Tetanus
It was impaled by your claws
Which clung to
And extracted it
My heart finally laid in your hands
And the pain of your gory triumph
Still rips my veins open
And ricochets throughout my brain
And tears me apart from the inside
The infection slowly contaminates my whole being
And even more slowly
Is killing me

Amazing somebody could write about this kind of nefarious insidious contamination and invasion of their psyche and soul. You do so so well too. Very good poem.
