Innocence Lost Poem by Alicia Del Fava

Innocence Lost

Rating: 5.0

Is innocence lost? Are youth paying the price?
Of modern man's zeal of throwing the dice.

They gamble and wager with social ideals.
Not knowing the audience awaits the reveal.

Society's stuck in a whirlwind consumed.
Where images, status and moments are groomed.

We run from the truth, concealed in a lie.
Creating a showpiece that turns a blind eye.

So what of us christians who deem to be true.
Who practice our faith and spout our worldview.

Our purpose on earth is not to conform.
But rather to stand and challenge the norm.

To open our hearts and boldly proclaim.
To lead those who hunger to life that's sustained.

For once one has witnessed, the beauty of Jesus.
No army can break down the walls of His fortress! !
