A child's eyes sees the world with wonder
shining images dulled with time
Shake off the dust of aging eye's blunder
Return to a nursery rhyme
A single drop a raging sea
Silken thread a writhing snake
Broccoli in grandeur an ancient oak tree
Rock in an old tin can, maraca to shake
Old stick becomes a gun
Doll from a lump of clay
Doily in a spiderweb spun
Plastic cups pointe shoes for ballet
Return to me a child's eyes
Pour innocence into an old man's brain
All things friends, not knowing lies
Shedding an aged rigid skin mundane
