Insomnia Poem by John A. Hancock

Insomnia

Of times alone when nights are long
And slumber mischief plays
To bring the dawn before it wakes
The sun still tuck'd away
Frustration channels stars of white
Bleary eyes peruse, whilst eventide
Imparts to sleep and me
A test of wills betwixt the two
O' nocturnal realm of darkness
Cast once more your mystic spell
And return me to the land of dreams
Till the morning sun the silver moon dispels
