Instead Poem by Marilyn Jean

Instead

Today, she was the mad one
Yet she knew he would not
She waited, waiting was good
Then, she was happy like this
He was always perfectly right
And it would have been so odd
But playing a bit was too good
So, she was glad she had done it
And she liked to wait and see
She was mad and yet she was not
She mostly needed comforting
But could he know, maybe not
She dreamed for a minute or two
About a hug and feeling close
But again and again loneliness
Filled all around her, here
Music helped a bit then singing too
But work was tedious and too much
It was Friday and her feelings
Had drained her, she was empty
Now she was near to giving up
The day was too old she was tired
Going to bed was not a dream here
But she needed to rest her head
So she would dream instead
She would dream them instead
Some of her dreams had partly come true
So, she believes in her dream
Instead of reality, waiting
Nobody could take that from her
