Insult To Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Insult To

Is it not insult to poetry?
Where you are denied sanctity
For not getting any attention
Even worth the mention

Poems after poems go unnoticed
As if they are worth no promises
The message in it shall be carrying
No importance for people reading

Well, I considered myself stupid
With providing no lead
Yet left no track for others
To comment with support offers

Many sites take note with pride
I never comment on it or hide
Yet it gives pleasure when notice
How lovely they feel about choice!

I feel to disappear from scene
With no trace to be seen
Instead of reminding of about their discourtesy
I shall be remaining permanently away

Poetry is emotions expressed in words its an action, akin to flowing water if held and stopped to consume it only benefits the benefactor, so no harm, keep writing poetry! RAJESHWARI SRINIVASAN, MUMBAI Feb 18,2015

Dear Hasmukh ji, while agreeing that responses to our writing is motivating, it is better that we write to express our innermost joys and pain, and feel fulfilled, rather than look for accolades from others. If someone comments on our poems fine, it should be taken as bonus. 'Tomaar daak sune keu na aase tobe ekla cholo re' said the Bangla bard ('If no one heeds, or listens to, your call, tread alone, my friend'. I hope my quote is correct in that language. Help! Supratik and others) . So don't feel disheartened, write on regardless. There are others in this forum who are doing exactly that. This lament from you is not the first time being expressed. I agree with Prabhu ji that though many of us may not post a response, we do read the postings. Warm regards. Hasmukh Bhai, I feel to disappear from scene With no trace to be seen It would be unkind of you, the unkindest cut. You cannot leave us in the lurch after entertaining with your beautiful verses and encouraging responses. Please do not think that your poems go unnoticed. We do read and enjoy them.
