Intellect Drawn Poem by Daniel Peter Jones

Intellect Drawn

Rating: 5.0

My Brain is starving
nourishment low,
No conversation or
exciting tones

No artistic colors
or
discussion about time
or
Flowering cognition
intertwined with mine.

i need arousing, so
Stroke my thoughts,
I dont want, my wants
to be ignored

I'd like Poetry Science,
History and smiles,
Pyramids and Stars
Constellations and why's?

i need wonderment,
and love, Sex to feel
your opinions and character
discussions to squeeze

Bathe me in creation
and wash me with rhyme
brush me with intellect
let our souls combine

My Brain is starving
Nourishment low
Just feed me something
or i'll have to go.

Hunger! I like these lines: Bathe me in creation and wash me with rhyme brush me with intellect let our souls combine Your poem shouts out for inspiration and intellect through poetry, the arts, or anything...just be interesting, stimulating. You want discussions to squeeze...interesting word choice there. ;) Thanks for sharing.

Some wonderful lines, Daniel. Especially like your last stanza. Since you liked Closing Time, you might also like Resurrection. I wrote it a year before Cohen's death.
