A whisper in the quiet night,
A strength that isn't mine, I fight.
They say a power, big and bold,
A story that can't quite unfold.
My own heart beats, a steady drum,
My mind remembers, overcome.
My spirit whispers, deep within,
Where all my courage can begin.
If God's the good that lives in me,
The honest choice, the clear decree,
Then I am guided, strong and true,
By what I know, and what I do.
My will, my choice, my sober plea,
With friends beside, I now am free.
No sin, no shame, just steps I've made,
And wisdom in this life displayed.
The good within, I seek and find,
The better path, for all mankind.
My own high power, clear and bright,
Guiding me safe, through day and night.
